Privacy Policy

Short version: The Duply Mac app does not collect, transmit, or share your personal data. The novane.app marketing website may use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic. We do not sell your data.

Who we are

Novane is a studio. Duply is our Mac disk cleaner, sold on the Mac App Store. Contact: support@novane.app.

1. Duply (the Mac app)

Duply does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data. It is a disk-cleaning and storage utility that runs entirely on your Mac inside Apple’s App Sandbox.

What Duply accesses

  • Only the folders you grant. Duply can read and clean files only in locations you explicitly choose through the macOS system file picker (for example, your Home folder so it can find rebuildable caches, or /Applications when you uninstall an app). Access is stored as a security-scoped bookmark on your device.
  • Duply reads file metadata (sizes, dates, app bundle identifiers) locally to show you what can be removed.

What Duply does not do

  • No analytics, tracking, advertising, or telemetry inside the app.
  • No accounts, no login, no cloud sync.
  • Your file names, contents, and index never leave your Mac.

Data deletion in the app

When you clean items, Duply either moves them to the Trash (recoverable from Finder) or deletes them permanently — according to the option you choose. Protected and system-sensitive locations (Keychain, preferences, .ssh, system files) are never touched.

2. novane.app (this website)

The marketing site is separate from the Mac app. Visiting the site does not give us access to files on your Mac.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site usage (for example, which pages are viewed and whether an App Store download button was clicked). This helps us understand which marketing channels work. Google may process this data under its own terms. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and we do not sell it.

If you prefer not to be included in analytics, you can use browser settings, content blockers, or Google’s opt-out tools where available.

What we do not collect on the site

  • No accounts or login on novane.app.
  • No payment forms on the site — purchases go through the Mac App Store (Apple).
  • Contact is by email only if you choose to write to us.

3. Email

If you email support@novane.app, we use your message and address only to respond and improve the product. We do not add you to marketing lists unless you ask.

4. Third parties

  • Apple — App Store distribution, payments, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy.
  • Google — website analytics as described above.
  • Hosting — the site is hosted on a web host that may process standard server logs (IP, request path, user agent) for security and reliability.

5. Children’s privacy

Duply and this site are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app or site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
